Impact · Safal in the Wild

A better tomorrow, built in steel.

Sustainability isn't a chapter of our strategy — it's the foundation. Here are the stories, people and places behind the numbers.

Safal Eye in the Wild

Photography as a force for conservation.

Since 2017, Safal Eye in the Wild (SEIW) has invited photographers across Africa to turn their lenses toward the continent's landscapes, wildlife and communities. Every frame becomes part of a bigger purpose — funding conservation, education and the next generation of storytellers.

2026 Theme · Frame Your Future

"Every image becomes part of a bigger purpose — turning creativity into opportunity."

What started in 2017 as MRM Eye in the Wild — a small competition celebrating Kenyan wildlife — has grown into a pan-African platform. Each year, a new theme frames the conversation: Wildlife. Stop the Chop. Every Drop Counts. African Landscapes. Drought in Focus. Frame Your Future.

A judging panel selects a top 20 whose work becomes the annual Safal calendar — a travelling gallery of the continent's environment, seen through the people who live closest to it.
